Trail Magic

image1867312607.jpgSpecial thanks to Mrs. Carla Wyatt! She gave Stuart, Alec and I the royal treatment in Franklin NC. Not only did she give us a bed to sleep in but she whipped up the best Southern cooking I’ve had in ages including country fried steak, lima beans, cabbage, broccoli, and banana pudding! Then we watched the ACC championship (unfortunately Carolina lost the day before) and Selection Sunday show. After a great night sleep and fresh laundry we woke up to biscuits and gravy, sausage, eggs, and grits! Wonderful home and wonderful family -thank you Wyatts!

These updates are great. I totally understand how the little things seem like the world when you’ve been away from it for awhile. A beer and a shower were the best things after a couple of weeks in the field.

Looks like your “floating through the trees, with the greatest of ease”… and trekking at a nice pace. Happy birthday..nice way to celebrate.

Tried to charter a helicopter to bring you a cake and ice cream…but fly-rates out to western NC were a little $$.

Will pick you up off the top of Roan Mtn.

    Take care, love Dad.
